Jim Ramer is an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Photography. He has been a member of the full-time faculty at Parsons since 2000. His work spans photography, sculpture, and installation. Professor Ramer teaches both practice and theory modules. Most recently, Professor Ramers work was featured in the 2009 International Festival of Photography at the Goeun Museum, Korea and was a presenter at the PingYao International Festival of Photography. In 2009 he served as Instructor in the IPO Collaborative Visual Research Project linking Parsons and Tsinghua Univeristy, Beijing, CN. In 2008 he was the Associate Director and Instructor of the Exquisite Corpse, A Visual Research Collaboration connecting Sydney College of the Arts, Sydney, NSW, AU, Parsons. His work has been widely exhibited and published. Exhibitions include: David Lusk Gallery; Contemporary Museum, MD; Rupert Goldsworthy Gallery, NY; Ole Dominion University, VA; Southern Illinois University, IL. Collections: Asissi Foundation, Promus Corporation, Schering-Plough Inc. He has curated numerous exhibition and is the former Director of Delta Axis Contemporary Arts Center and a Co Founder of Art Workers Unions Plan be Gallery. He holds an M.F.A. from Memphis College of Art.
